It's been one week since we launched BusySync and what a week it's been! Here are the highlights.
Hello World
It all started when I gave a demo at the local Seattle XCoder's meeting last week. And through the power of persuasion (free beer), I convinced Gus Mueller to blog about it. Well, John Gruber picked up on Gus's post and from there the fire spread. Wow.
Public Beta? No problem.
Remember the days when "beta" meant something? Nowadays the term is meaningless. I thought we could take a nice cautious approach and slowly roll out the product through a controlled public beta process. Not so. We got thousands of downloads in the first week (thanks to John Gruber). Fortunately, the software is quite stable and we didn't receive any panicked emails. In fact, only minor bugs have been reported, none of them critical.
Mikey likes it!
We've been secretly working on BusySync for months with the hope that there are others out there like us who want to share iCal calendars with their family and coworkers. But it takes a great deal of faith to invest months of hard work creating something without any tangible proof that someone will appreciate it. Well, the results are in and we've received tons of positive reviews and couldn't be happier with the response.
Final stretch
Development is moving along swiftly. We hope to be out of public beta and release the 1.0 version in mid-October. We're focusing our efforts for 1.0 on stabilizing and polishing the product with its current feature set. We've received many feature requests and plan to implement many of them through routine updates. Stay tuned...
this is the app many of us have been waiting for....I've been using it for a week and love it...keep up the great work....this changes everything.
