As we approach the public beta release of BusyCal this July, we'll be posting a series of screencasts that highlight BusyCal's unique features. This first screencast focuses on sharing calendars over a LAN and demonstrates how BusyCal users can:
- Share calendars over a LAN with full 2-way synchronization
- Password protect calendars for read-only or read/write access
- Make changes while offline and automatically sync when reconnected
If you look closely you'll notice a few other unique features like weather forecasts, moon phases, holidays, and resizable banners. We'll cover those features and many more in future screencasts.

Looks tremendous...I'd like to use this in my house with my wife and son so we're all on the same page. What about my son in college...can we sync over the internet...or through MobileMe? Can't wait (hope I'm still in your Beta test list.) One question: will event notifications (alarms) be more useful than iCal's? I have spoken to a number of other iCal users and we would all jump ship if BusyCal allowed us to snooze reminders at intervals and times of OUR own choosing..not the preset times Apple has in iCal.

Jay -- Yes, you'll be able to sync over the internet as well, just like in BusySync, which you can learn more about here:

And BusyCal will definitely offer better alarm snoozing options. I'll be posting more info on that front in the weeks ahead.
