Daylight shading is missing in Week view

BusyCal can show daylight-hour shading in Week view (based on sunrise/sunset). If it’s missing, the most common causes are:

  • You’re running an older BusyCal build that had a bug affecting the display, or
  • BusyCal doesn’t have enough location/weather data to calculate sunrise/sunset.

Fix checklist

  1. Update BusyCal to the latest version available for your distribution (Direct/App Store/Setapp).
  2. Make sure weather/location is configured:
    • In BusyCal, enable Weather (Settings > Weather) and choose At current location (or set a specific location).
    • In macOS System Settings, make sure BusyCal has permission for Location Services if you’re using current location.
  3. Quit and relaunch BusyCal.

If the feature worked before and suddenly stopped, an update is especially likely to resolve it.
