Google Tasks sync fails with “Insert failed with no result”
If BusyCal is syncing tasks to Google and you see errors like “Insert failed with no result” or “Calendar fetch failed for remote ID … (My Tasks)”, one specific task can sometimes be causing the sync to fail.
Fix: Find the offending task and simplify its notes
- Identify the task name from your logs (look for the task title near the “Insert failed” lines).
- In BusyCal, locate that task and open it.
- Temporarily remove the notes (or reduce them to a short plain-text line).
- Sync again.
If syncing succeeds after removing the notes, paste the notes back in gradually (or paste via a plain-text editor). If you find that one specific line/character consistently triggers the server error, cleaning that text usually resolves the issue.
